Not for the athiest and I am a theist!!! Is it the controversial mind or the age old beliefs ….

Controversies have always been a part of India whether big or small, mellow or harsh. Say in the world of politics, sports, bollywood, economy and a lot more day-to- day social issues , controversies do  make their place no matter it’s the media hype or the public hue and cry, they do come in the picture. It’s like the more you chase it the more it gets plugged and sometimes no wonder today in this era where violence predominates justice, barbarism beholds the consequences. Prolonged debates airs the news channels with unwanted profanity of words, where solutions go off  their spot;  if one inclines towards the goal of peace no less the other waits to pull it back to the trench of antagonism. But the question is how long it would take to fall in place and be amended or is it the time to raise plebiscites? Opponent parties are brought to the show, a neutral one struggles hard to balance the discrepancies and the show ends with applauds and sometimes to mere conclusions that is so volatile that it again gets replaced with another melodramatic tantrum. No one bothers to know whether do their voices reach the unheard, to the unprivileged, to the one actually awaiting justice, or they just go unnoticed, unheard and dwindle among the educated fraternity of the society, the rich and the privileged ones.  I wish rationality hones to the one who deserves, the guilty are pinned down and results gets fairer than before.  So what’s the take today, the controversies that never ends or the controversies that bemoans due to the contradictory perceptions that one carries or sometimes it's the belief in one's mind which is so supreme that no matter how controversial issues are , no matter what reality holds , no matter how sensible the visions display causing controversies  that creates a hype, one again pins to the age old practices and pulls it along. Is it the supreme mind that turns controversial with ages or is it the age old beliefs that overshadow such minds?

Today, of all the controversies, we see India really battles hard for the unsolved mysteries related to none other than the religious conflicts; yes the indomitable religious controversies. Right from the “Ram Janambhoomi -  Babri Masjid where Hindu- Muslim disparities  whiz  in the air, the controversies related to Baba Ram Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda  coercing people to castration,  the controversial self-styled God man , yes I’m talking about Baba Asuram Bapu and a lot such more that slowly and steadily spreads the tantrums of fear, hatred, intolerance, pain and death to certain extent in the society amid hope, belief ,trusts, faith and sentiments which at the same time thrives to have their way. Is indulgence the reason or the domination of the megalomaniac’s or the forced preaching or needless public exaggeration of course backed by the big media is the sole reason of such havoc's? I know there will be another plethora of responses if this is again dragged into the debatable platform. By this what I want to blog is the issue as everyone is well aware of; the most popular controversial affair related to Rajkumar Hirani’s “PK”. It’s not about the movie solely; rather I want to share a certain view of mine via PK. But this is something I feel, despite being or making it the controversial cup cake, where applauds surpassed the criticisms with inexorable whistles and bows, there is no full stop to the mind boggling thoughts in the name of religious practices. From the domestic land to the foreign soil it has touched the heart of many and has ruled the box-office beyond a figure of 200 crores and still today if I ask the one who watched - “How was it?”  ; the only response I get  is - “it’s a fab”.  What a marvelous job it has really done indeed!!! However months back If I recall the concept of the movie directed by Umesh Shukla : “Oh my God” also brought the same issues but little was it successful in leaving its trail . If the duo is compared, concept wise I see no difference but the innovative approach PK has reflected way elaborate and more eye-catching thoughts and perceptions maybe that has overruled the hearts of many.

In this present society, where the paradigm of peace and harmony pledges is taken wholeheartedly, just a tinge of it we get to see or feel its essence in reality. Blasphemy, terrorism, violence, barbarism is all that competes among with the first come first service mantra. But again when things go unruly and hysteric, no matter how hard we ignore, we take His name, yes the name of the Almighty. Whether a Christian, a Hindu, A Muslim, A Sikh, a Jew, His name is recalled and blessings are asked to save the ailing Earth at such precarious state. So, what it reflects if you flip the other side of the coin; is the same mindset with the age-old practices and continuation of rituals and ceremonies, of faith and hope, of dreams and desires, of beliefs and worships to solve the indomitable conflicts of good and evil, such that good wins over the evil.  Yes, echoes of applauds, praises and laughter, public contentment was sensed by the very concept what PK revealed. But can you really see something? I don’t know what is it? I wonder if it’s the hypocrisy of some hypocrites that can exists or the set of supreme holy beliefs one is accustomed to or it’s the controversial mindset one is dominated so or it's the insurmountable belief's that dominates all? The other day people’s thoughts coincide with the movie’s perception, and what we see the very next day, the same people, some on their knees, some with joined hands enchanting the holy mantras, some with garlands of those colorful petals, with the same decorated puja-thali thronging in front of the temples whispering their wishes to the Almighty. And so the process repeats with the much noticeable on 1st Jan, 2015 where devotees queued for hours to seek blessings to start the New Year. In case of a Hindu, the pujaris chanted the mantras for the beloved devotees, the donation box yet poured with riches and no less the same people do their very best in covering all the rituals unless they feel they have satisfied their Lord.  So is this the power of belief or faith of the human mind overpowering the reality? Or If I say, they are those pragmatic beliefs or faiths that are inevitable in our minds that reminds of their existence, unchangeable and mulish; that despite of displaying the harsh true picture in the name of religion, one denies to give up of what one needs to forgo.

Essentially, I blame it to the controversial mind that can be said the creator of all such controversies or such hypocrisy that dominates the simplistic set of beliefs related to religion, when it comes to worshiping of God or following some God man’s guidance in the path of searching the divine. I myself being a theist do worship God, and by this I respect all other’s affinity to worshiping God. But the rests that marginally adds up to the chain of such beliefs say : donating bundles of wealth in the name of God, blindly abiding to some  God man’s  astrological tactics and every other things that follows the chain is all that is decided by the incessant mindset of one’s. As said “it’s all in your mind”. You believe you don’t, you follow you don’t, you continue you cease; all depends on your mind.

No matter how largely realism is aired related to the path of devotion towards the deity, no matter how aggressively commercialization have actually crept in the name of religion, one still follows and will follow the ways that sounds satisfactory to him/her in matter of adulatory and it may lasts until the beliefs in one's mind predominates the rests. So say its hypocrisy or religious controversies, the first and foremost thing is to comprehend and differentiate the do's and don’ts, to cater the mind with rational beliefs, with optimism, with pragmatism. No doubt  one's innocent mind was or is catered to such historical beliefs or practices since time immemorial , in fact ,one don’t even bothers or some don’t even dare to  interrogate why it' been done the way it is or why it’s been practiced the way it is, rather one abides silently and belief undoubtedly for the sake of God. But I suppose this is not the fear of God, as one might think, it's the belief in one's mind that rules thy soul when it comes to matters of  heavenly abode.

In this age of 21st century, yes changes has taken place in many aspects of life and I agree changes are vital. The age is ruled by controversies or hypocrites but at the end we all want a fair outcome , all peace. Yes, beliefs of one's mind are supreme , they know no right or wrong. But nothing is perfect, no one's perfect. One's belief can be misled by one's mind but as I said change is vital as such accordingly the unjust practices or beliefs or faith can be reformed with time. So it’s really a high time to listen to your instinct with an open mind, confront the unjust, stop the misdeeds and spread healthy vibes of trusts, awakening purity, the victory of good over evil and conquer peace. Again I say “everything is in your mind”. In Ralph Emerson words, “nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind”.
